SUMMARY:Ekphrasis: An Evening of Boxing & Poetry
DESCRIPTION:On October 19th\, at 5:00 PM\, the UCLA Department of European Languages & Transcultural Studies\, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles\, presents Ekphrasis\, an evening dedicated to the renowned poet and writer Gabriele Tinti and his celebrated series of ekphrastic poetry. \nEvent Details:\nDate & Time: October 19\, 5:00 PM\nLocation: UCLA Royce Hall\, Room 236\, Los Angeles\, CA \nGabriele Tinti is an Italian poet. He has worked with the J. Paul Getty Museum\, the\nMetropolitan Museum of Art\, the British Museum\, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art\,\nthe Capitolini Museums (among many other institutions)\, and his poems have been\nperformed by actors including Abel Ferrara\, Willem Dafoe and Kevin Spacey. In 2018 his\nekphrastic poetry project Ruins was awarded the Premio Montale with a ceremony at the\nMuseo Nazionale Romano in Palazzo Altemps.
