Michelle Bumatay: Black Bandes Dessinées in Context

In conjunction with the UCLA Center for the Global Study of France, we invite you to attend a talk with Michelle Bumatay (Florida State University) on April 28th, from 5pm-6:30pm in Royce Hall 236.
In this talk, Prof. Bumatay, who holds a Ph.D. from our own program in French and Francophone Studies, will be disentangling what “African” and “comics” might mean and focusing on artists’ practices throughout francophone Africa and the diaspora.
