At the 48th annual German Studies Association (GSA), ELTS graduate students Lena Trüper and Anna Bonazzi presented their research at the “Food for Thought Showcase.” Hosted by GSA Vice President Damani Partridge, the Showcase featured presentations from seven junior scholars. The idea of the Showcase was to highlight new, interdisciplinary research in German Studies. Trüper presented her research on colonial and racial discourses embedded in cybernetics, focusing on the liminal figure of the fly. Bonazzi presented her research on oral histories of migrants and refugees in Germany, which uses digital humanities methods to study narrative form and the testimonial genre. ELTS congratulates both Trüper and Bonazzi for this honor.
