Professor and Chair Todd Presner selected for the UCLA Faculty Mentoring Honorary Society

We are thrilled to share with you the news that Professor and Chair Todd Presner has been selected for the UCLA Faculty Mentoring Honorary Society. He is one of ten inductees nominated and awarded from across the university based on nomination.

Supported by a grant from the University of California Office of the President and convened by the Academic Personnel Office, the Faculty Mentoring Honorary Society recognizes faculty for excellence in mentoring and for their commitment to fostering a strong and diverse intellectual community at UCLA. The work of mentoring is too often invisible and unrecognized, and the Society honors faculty who have contributed to the professional development of early and mid-career faculty at UCLA, especially the mentorship of underrepresented faculty with respect to identities such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, and disability. Professor Presner is being recognized for his “groundbreaking, interdisciplinary scholarships in German Jewish studies, as well as in digital and urban humanities,” which “enable him to make sense of new intellectual terrains, foster collaborative relationships, articulate compelling visions for exciting academic pursuits and support these endeavors with sustainable institutional infrastructures.” He is an “inspiring, collaborative and knowledgeable leader, and the most humble, clear-sighted and supportive mentor.”

Professor Presner will be honored in a special ceremony at the Faculty Club on April 27, 2023. Please join us in congratulating Professor Presner for his wonderful service to the university.
