Magdalena Panevska Blaisdell

Ph.D. Student

Magdalena Panevska Blaisdell is a Ph.D. student with interests in contemporary and modern Italian literature, and in particular the works of Italian women writers. Other research interests include gender studies and feminism, and the representation of women in Italian film with a focus on female directors.

Magdalena completed her B.A. in Italian Language and Literature at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje, Macedonia, with additional study at Università per Stranieri in both Siena and Perugia. She instructed all levels of Italian at private schools in her native Macedonia. In addition, while completing her M.A. in Italian Studies at the University of Virginia, she taught undergraduate courses as a teaching assistant.
