Rebecca Temkin is a Ph.D. student in the Department of French and Francophone Studies. She received her B.A. with honors in French and Francophone Studies with a concentration in Human Rights from Barnard College in New York. She has also studied and conducted research in Dakar, Senegal. In 2016 she presented her undergraduate thesis entitled “The Politics of Sexuality: Contextualizing Gay Rights and U.S. Foreign Aid in Senegal” at the Dakar Institute of African Studies.
